Interested in Becoming a Coach?

How to get started

STEP 1 - Complete your Criminal Record Check (CRC) for Vulnerable Sector

All Coaches are required to have a valid CRC for the Vulnerable Sector.  CRC's are only valid for 2 years. If your CRC has expired you will need to update prior to taking part in any on field programming with MJSA
  • Coaches can complete this at the Moose Jaw Police station
  • You will need to print off a CRC/VS request letter which can be downloaded here: CRC letter

 ***reimbursement for CRC will be given at the end of the season***

STEP 2 - Complete your Respect in Sport (RiS) Training for Activity Leaders

Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders is a required training program for all registered coaches and team personnel of provincial sport governing bodies in Saskatchewan. RiS for Activity Leaders is a tool designed to assist leaders to identify and respond to abuse, neglect, harassment, and bullying. The RiS curriculum consists of seven modules and takes approximately three hours to complete. It can be completed in one or multiple sittings. There is no examination component and it is FREE for all Coaches in MJSA courtesy of Sask Sport.

STEP 3 - Register online with MJSA

All Coaches and Team Personnel must be registered with MJSA. When registering please be sure to have the following information with you.
* Digital Copy of your CRC/VS
* Respect in Sport #
* NCCP # (If you have not completed an NCCP course or can't find your #, go to www.coach.ca to set-up an account or access your NCCP Transcript.

STEP 4 - Complete your Canada Soccer age-specific Coach Education Training

Once you have completed your registration, you will be contacted about any additional age/level-specific training that may still be required.

ActiveStart (U5), FUNdamentals (U7-U9), Learn To Train (U11-U13), Soccer for Life (U15+) are the trainings required for our House League coaches and FC Assistant Coaches. Click HERE to find more information and register.

 ***reimbursement for any age/level-specific training will be reimbursed with proof of completion and fulfilled coaching for the current session***
